In Class:  Check in 3 resources on background for Introduction; Review and discuss Writing a Thesis handout; Discuss Quotes, Paraphrases and Summaries handout; discuss Notefacts and Resource sheets.  Read sample student research paper in red textbook on pages 781-782 ans see R56-57 for information on citation format; take notes on Notefacts for Introduction-you should have 3 quotes, paraphrases and summaries and fill in Research sheet for sources. Begin draft Introduction; one paragraph in length; underline thesis; thesis to be at end of your Introduction.

Make sure to have a mixture of quotes, summaries and paraphrases.

In Class:  Check in Notefacts and Pro/Con Outlines; As a large group on your topic area, set up your Wiki and your Wiki Navigation Outline using the How to Set Up a Wiki handout.  One person will be the administrator. then individually you will begin to compose on the computer a draft of your each body support section using your Outline and your Notefact sheets. YOU WILL NOT BE PUTTING THIS ON YOUR WIKI YET. TYPE IT ON WORD FOR NOW.Each support area should be one (1) paragraph in length. You should be working on the drafts with your small group-pro/con side of your topic area.

Homework:  Draft of the body support area due Monday, 3/16.  Each support area draft should be one (1) paragraph in length. Your final Introduction is due Monday, 3/16.  EAch student is responsible for his/her own final Introduction. Introductions should include background information with a thesis statement (underlined) at the end of the paragraph with one quote, one paraphrase and one summary.  The Thesis Statement is persuasive, but the rest of the Intro is background information.

In Class:  Check in final Introductions and draft body support; In class in your small groups of three, collaborate to make the BEST Introduction and 3 Body paragraphs and record them on the Wiki pages. You will learn to cite in the Body of the Wiki on Weds., Thurs., 3/18, 3/19. 

Homework:  Each person in your small group should choose one page from the Wiki to finish for Homework due Tuesday, 3/17.   Make sure to print out the Wiki page you work on. This will be graded as a homework grade. Make sure final Introduction is completed.

In Class: Discuss the organizational structure for the oppositions argument and the refuation paragraph.  Research and take notes on the opposition’s main argument. Individually, draft a paragraph for the acknowledgement of the opposition’s side.

Homework:  Work on MLA citations both in the body of the WIKI and in the Works Cited Page.  Final Copy of completed WIKI with all completed pages copied including Works Cited Page and in-text citations due Monday, 3/23.
